Childbirth Education Classes
in Colorado Springs
These classes are currently on hold as I work to finish my midwifery training this year. Scroll down for 2018 Labor Doula Services.
I am a CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator (CCCE), and have logged over 400 hours of teaching time. Currently, I am teaching an Essentials For Childbirth six-week series as an educator with Preparing For Birth.
Essentials for Childbirth
(6 week series)
This class is a comprehensive look at pregnancy, labor, birth, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, and newborn care in approximately 15+ hours of hands-on instruction. It starts with the basics of pregnancy, moves naturally through labor challenges, what to expect with various interventions, and how to get breastfeeding started. It finishes in the final weeks with the basics of breastfeeding, newborn care, and what those first 6 weeks postpartum are really like.
Saturday workshops are also available, and cover various aspects of the 6-week series in a condensed format. One workshop is geared toward parents planning a natural, unmedicated birth, while another is geared toward those who are planning to have an epidural. We have a breastfeeding basics workshop, a VBAC workshop, and a workshop entirely dedicated to the first six weeks following the birth of your baby.
